Events

Throughout my life, I have loved to create events, build event strategies, and everything else involved. While I applaud those who can do this as their full-time jobs, I’ve been able to work on and lead events throughout my life. Here are some of the highlights.

Columbia University Thanksgiving Dinner 2019

Working with my Dining client, I’ve promoted and produced creative for over 30 events, including the “most loved tradition,” Thanksgiving Feast. For Thanksgiving Feast, I managed all creative production, shirt production, menu design, layout, promotion, student reservations & seating, run of show, and all day of operations. We had almost 800 students enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with us to notable success and comments that they wanted to have this event a few times a year. In addition, this year’s event had around 100 more students and one additional room than previous years, adding to the increased operations needs.

WWPR Woman of the Year

From 2015-2018, I was a part of the WWPR (Washington Women in PR) Woman of the Year Event Committee and I was elected to the board for 2017/2018. As a part of this committee, I was the lead for the Awards program, event photography, video production of the event, and day of event coordination. I worked with local videographers and produce the questions, the shooting, various cuts and final distribution of videos about the nominees & events.

SXSW 2017

In January 2017, I was brought onto the team that worked on distributing, press and event planning for an independent documentary release. We rolled out the green carpet to exclusively premiere the film at SXSW 2016 with Vox Media, CNBC, Gina Rodriguez, and the stars of the film. I worked with other agencies to plan the event and executed an Instagram Story of the weekend at SXSW. The event was a film premiere at the Violet Crown Austin where we hosted a session on Innovation with Kara Swisher & Steve Case for Vox and Facebook Live panels hosted by CNBC Money with a former NFL player, AngelHack's CEO, the film's director, and more. We were able to get celebrity and entrepreneur Gina Rodriguez to host the event and talk about her experience with startups and entrepreneurship, as well as the impact of the movie. The launch was a success and the film succeeded all client expectations.

NWHM WOMEN MAKING HISTORY AWARDS 2017

At the Women Making History Awards 2017, our team provided strategic support leading up to the event, during the event, and content post event. We helped our client bring together big Democratic and Republican names to advance their mission: building a permanent museum dedicated to Women’s History on the National Mall. We coordinated to develop the program, assist with all event logistics, secure coverage, attract media attendees, staff the event, and coordinate content capture onsite – including photography, b-roll and video, live-tweeting, and an Instagram Influencer program. During the event, I was in charge of live tweeting, photography as a part of that, and video production, as well as interviewing attendees. I also created the social video, post-event, using b-roll and interviews shot by a hired videographer. The video can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/womenshistory/videos/10154797702532252/.

The event raised $250,000 for the Museum and garnered high praise from the Museum’s Chair of the Board, Susan Whiting, who said “Just wow. For those who aren't as close to the communication and PR world, this is a home run.”
